Location of the holiday flat
The Birbamergut holiday home is located in South Tyrol, a bilingual province in Italy right on the border to Austria. The main languages of the country are German and Italian, although Ladin is also spoken in some parts of the country. This multilingualism is one of the special features of the autonomous province.
The holiday apartment is located in the middle of South Tyrol, in the municipality of Ritten. The cities of Bozen (Bolzano) and Brixen (Bressanone) can be reached in 30 minutes, Klausen (Chiusa) in 25 minutes and Meran (Merano) in 60 minutes. The location of the holiday home allows day trips and hikes in all directions of South Tyrol, such as to the Dolomites, the Alpe di Siusi, the Rittner Horn and many other great destinations.

The Birbamergut is located in the hamlet of Antlas, a quiet area on the Ritten. After a short walk of only seven minutes you reach the farm-inn Zunerhof and the Andreas-Church.
Above the Birbamergut lies the village of Lengstein. Here you will find a small village shop and three restaurants. There are further shopping facilities in the villages of Klobenstein (Collalbo), Oberbozen (Soprabolzano) and Unterinn (Auna di Sotto). Below the holiday home, the mixed forest slopes first in terraces, then steeply down 500 metres to the valley floor.
Directions to the holiday apartment in Lengstein
There are basically two possibilities to reach the holiday flat in Lengstein. Both routes lead to the village of Longostagno, and have advantages and disadvantages:
- Via the suburb Rentsch (motorway exit Bozen Nord):
Comfortable approach on a wide, two-lane road to Lengstein. This option is always our recommendation. - Via Waidbruck / Barbian:
Faster variant if the exit "Klausen" is chosen at the motorway. After the village of Barbian the road is single-lane, but with many evade possibilities.
